  Great remodel from the old beach. Parking lot changed and has been very unclear about what was going on but is getting better. Once you find parking it is a good walk to the beach. There are 3 separate beach locations all located next to each other. There is a small concession stand and a few picnic tables on a grassy plateau above the beach. Landscaping was done well but not being properly maintained. Only downpoint I saw. Great spot and way safer than it was 15 years ago. However if you walk out too far you will find yourself stepping on barnacle covered rocks.

  Been here several times on vacation and it never fails to disappoint Visited on a foggy Christmas morning so it was totally empty and very worth it. Facilities on beach are amazing and ADA friendly with restrooms and picnic tables. Very nice launch area for kayaks and paddle boards. Looks like there is,a rental area in the warmer months.

  Good place to get in the water on the James River. It can get a little crowded in the summertime on nice days but apart from that it is great.

  First off they started charging for parking this year, but it's not unreasonable. This is a great place to take kids swimming. The water is shallow and always warm. Nice beach, lots of picnic tables and grills. A full bathroom and outdoor showers. Even a snack bar. Highly recommended.
